Learning to drive as an adult can feel exciting, empowering, and sometimes a little intimidating. At Mid Columbia Auto Academy, we are committed to helping you become a confident, capable, and attentive driver through structured instruction and personalized guidance.
Our Adult Driver Education Program includes:
30 hours of classroom instruction
6 hours of behind-the-wheel training
Professional evaluation and feedback
Practical route recommendations for continued practice
We focus on building strong foundational skills first, then progressing step-by-step into more complex traffic environments as your confidence and ability grow.
Driving is a serious responsibility. Because operating a vehicle carries real-world risk, we follow a competency-based progression system. Advancement to city, highway, or freeway driving depends on demonstrated readiness.
Our instructors are trained to prioritize safety at all times for:
You
Your instructor
Other drivers
The community
If additional practice is needed before advancing, we will guide you clearly and professionally.
Consistent attendance and active participation are essential for skill development. Students are responsible for scheduling and attending their sessions and communicating any changes in advance.
Program fees become non-refundable after the first behind-the-wheel session.
In rare cases where safety concerns arise, the Academy reserves the right to pause or discontinue instruction.
We make every reasonable effort to help students progress, but safety always comes first.
Students who complete all required coursework and demonstrate minimum competency will receive a Certificate of Completion. Students are responsible for scheduling their drive test with the Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle Services (DMV) or an approved third-party tester.
For complete program policies, including liability acknowledgment, refund terms, dismissal standards, and dispute resolution details, please review our full Adult Driver Education Terms of Service HERE.
